Thank You Suanna

Today I got a call from Suanna (my sister for
those of you who do not know) to check my email
pronto.  She already knew the reason, obviously.  A few
weeks ago I had entered a contest through Suanna's
the link that describes the calendar and what the calendar
does for people.)  This is my first juried competition.  I have
had a quilt in a show here at home, but it was
not really a juried competition to get into the show
only juried for prizes.

Oddly enough I had never posted a picture of this quilt on the blog.
Well at least I could not find one.  So here is its debut I guess!
It is made from 100% cotton fabrics that are 1930's
reproduction fabrics and muslin.  And I hand quilted it
with cross country floss in off white and a shade of green.
The title of the quilt is "A Flower A Day..."

Thank you Suanna for encouraging me to enter
the quilt into the contest!  I am honored to have
it in the calendar!  I entered this quilt in honor of
two friends who are both fighting cancers right now,
Jen (Baldwin) Martin and Lindy (Vander Zwaag) VerBeek.
Both beautiful women who need prayers to beat
cancer and strength to do it and for their families!

A Churchin' We Will Go

Hannah was the right size to wear the outfit
that Mar Mar made her.  So she wore
it when we went to church on Sunday.
She just did not wear the bonnet to church.
She does not like to wear hats too well
in her car seat as they turn often with her
head one way and do not often follow her head
in the other way.  So here are pictures for Mar Mar
and for Trisha as she loves a baby in a bonnet!
She was being very photogenic Sunday so I took a few!

Hannah has more firsts

Hannahs' changing!  Well you know that
from looking at the pictures but she has learned
a few new tricks!
We have not been to the beach yet on a warm
day because it has been so stinking hot here this
summer.  But her Auntie Karon bought her a bathing
suit so we had to put it on and have some fun!
Just a sweet smile
Before Hannah ate some dinner, look how happy
she is to see Daddy at home and to be
somewhat clean!
This is not the first time that she has eaten
solid foods but it is the first time
she ate peas in her rice cereal!
She took a nap with Daddy and woke up with
a very sweaty head!  Wish there
was a better picture of this!  But her hair
was sticking up in all directions!
She likes to pull Momma's hair and she likes
to touch and pull, as best she can, Daddy's short hair.
The many faces of Hannah in her ExerSaucer.  This is
the snack tray portion and she looks like she is asking
for some food and drink, even though she is not quite sure
what food and drink means.
Ummmmm
Ahhhhhh
Hey get me out of here!  I am done in this seat!
The first time that she sat up for a minute
or two without us holding her up.  Yes the
seat helps a bit but she did the work!
Just playing!
We took Hannah to her first fair yesterday!  This
was about the happiest that she was then entire time!
We were hoping to get Hannah in the picture with the
tigers but it did not work out.
One of the reasons Adrian and I wanted to go
to the fair was the food, corn dogs and fries!  Too
much food for the both of us!
The look on Hannah's face when she woke up from her
nap at the fair!  It was fun to go but we are hoping the next
time she is not so freaked out by the lights, noise and all
the action!  Hopefully next time she will enjoy the
animals like I did!

Hannah This Week in Video

It is only mid-week and I realized that we have
not taken many photos of Hannah.
That is not totally true, I send photos
about 3-5 times a day to Adrian on his phone but
the photos are not good enough quality for the blog.
I have been taking videos so
Adrian will not miss what is going on all day!

The first video is how Hannah eats her rice cereal.
We started feeding it to her last week and she is
starting to get the hang of it.  Except we have not
taught her manners as you will see!

The second one is her after she is done eating.
She was a little "plugged" up this week and it is normal
for the way she normally eats but she was more "plugged"
up this week, the most ever to date.  The reason
is most likely due to  her starting to eat a little bit of
solid foods.  She had just finished eating from
the first video, she was eating rice cereal
with some dark Karo syrup to help her
"situation".  She is chatting maybe about being
grateful or being not grateful to Mrs. Van Dyke and Mar Mar
for the help to get "unplugged".  I will let
you decide how happy she was with her food!
She is grateful now!

And the last video is great!  It is her
playing with Daddy after a long day at work!
He can get her laughing so hard and it
is the sweetest thing!

She is definitely entertaining!

New Things

Hannah seems to be learning
things at a faster rate and quicker
than I can see!  Today for instance she
was sitting in her exersaucer while I was sewing.
She was right next to me the entire time
so that she will stay content.  I was sewing
(a new bib for her,you will see below)
and I looked down at her
and she had figured out that she could
make her seat turn!  We had tried showing it
to her before but she just got it on her own!  She still
cannot quite sit in it on her own yet, she still
needs a hand towel or two in the seat
to keep her upright.
taking a snoozes on the way to the farmers market
remember this hat?
this is how it fits now!
this is the last time she wears the hat,
it was the hat she got in the hospital
Hannah rolling to her side
looks uncomfortable but this is Hannah on her stomach
and she is starting to pull her knees up, working
on that rolling over again,
no worries Hannah was not harmed
in the making of this photo!

she always smile nice for her Daddy, especially
when she is sitting with him!
The last time she laid in her crib,
the funny thing is that she really liked
it this time and did not want to get out!
smiling in her her pretty bib, got to love
those free bibs!
showing off her new bib momma made!

Hannah picked out these videos for you to watch!
She looked at all her videos with me and liked these
two the best, maybe she is trying to tell you something,
if you know what she is saying please let us know!

Check Up

Sorry no pictures for this update!
Hannah had her 4 month check up
this morning.  Hannah slept well last night
but I did not, as I knew what she was going to
be in for at the doctor's office.
She started out getting weighed and
measured.  She currently weighs 16 pounds
and she measures 27 inches in length!
She is getting so big so quickly!
She is currently off the charts
for her height and she is in the 95th
percentile for her weight.  They
also measured her head and for what
ever reason they measure that in centimeters,
and her head measures 41 cm.
After all this was said and done the doctor
came in and said she is progressing very well.
She told me that breast fed babies tend to
grow faster and/or are larger than babies who
are formula fed.  Her progress in all the things
she is doing is right on schedule as well.

Then came the fun part the shots!  Since
she had started her Hep B shot in the hospital, she
did not have to have that shot today.  So she had
one oral vaccine and 2 shots.  She was a rock star,
last time she cried for quite a long time but today
she cried for maybe 30 seconds!  And she
gave me smiles a lot today as well!  God is good!
I prayed she would do good with the shots and
did she ever!  I will post some pictures again soon!
