Holidays in MI

For the first time in a while Adrian and I got
a vacation at Christmas! It was a nice
time to be back in MI but now it
seems like it happened a long time ago.
We got to see friends and family
but not enough! Here is a picture show
of our time together.

The first full day we were in Holland
we took Clara and Caleb to their swim team
practice. Here is Lydia watching from above.

Dominic and Ella watching Caleb getting
his turn down the big slide.

on PBS kids

Every meal we all ate together there was
a kids table. I think they enjoyed being away
from the adults.

There was always a game going on and food being
made. Lydia loves to help make pizza.

The kids were always drawn to the computer!

We took a drive out to the north side of town
and had to check out the beach. We were hoping
for big ice, but the only ice was covering the parking
lot and the railings along the water. But seeing
Big Red never disappoints!

Love seeing Ella's smile!

Everyone giving input on Lydia's Christmas gift

Caleb excited about a book!

I wonder who got Clara this gift. . .

Nate had declared to the kids that it was a
"Nate Christmas" and warned them they better
hope that Nate does not like or want their gifts or
he would stake claim on them. The statement was only
fair since we were told that Santa does not bring gifts to
adults only children!

kids love to climb on him!

We had two baby showers while we were
in MI. Kris was so excited about giving us
the gift that she had to do it before
the shower took place. We thought it was very
creative, a diaper cake!

Shower at Melinda's house, love baby clothes!

Baby's first teddy bear and it is Classic Pooh!

Trisha picked out a fabulous cake!

that yes there is a baby in there! One

2:47 PM 09.03.07

At 2:47 PM today I put the last hand stitch in the quilt! It is totally finished! Now it just needs to be washed! It is the first quilt that I have actually quilted by hand. I was so excited to start the hand quilting that I did not draw the lines first, I just started stitching. So do not look too closely at it! Hope your labor day was filled without labor and lots of fun & relaxation!

The finished product!

Circa a mile or two from home

"You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst forth into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands."
from: Isaiah son of Amos

"May the glory of the Lord endure
forever;
may the Lord rejoice in his
works-
he who looks at the earth, and it
trembles,
who touches the mountains, and
they smoke."
from: an unknown Psalmist

The move from There to Here

We moved from "There" to "Here" last month, can't believe it has been a month! Adrian graduated from Med School (Woo whoo!) and was placed in his residency "Here". And our life begins anew once again.
